Oh dear, now Popey's weighed in: quoted today (15 January) as saying "One cannot provoke, one cannot insult other people's faith, one cannot make fun of faith. There is a limit. Every religion has its dignity... in freedom of expression, there are limits."
Nope, Pope. If your faith can't withstand someone making fun of it, there's a problem with it. And, if I remember my history correctly, religions have not been great respecters of each other.
For once, I find myself agreeing with Salman Rushdie. You can't limit freedom: it's an absolute.
